As if human shadows were hidden in the light.

On the treshold of that light,
Where a sky only
Can silence
The upward flight of green.

Villaggio Olimpico, Rome (Italy), 2017
This neighbourhood has an interesting story.
Rome hosted the Olympics in the summer of 1960.
The Villaggio Olimpico is one of the wolrd’s first purpose-built athletes’village.
The architects were Luigi Moretti and Alberto Libera; it was designed to house 8,000 athletes. It turned into a neighbourhood for state employees when the olympic games were over.
Nearby, you can see the wonderful Palazzetto dello Sport, by the great Italian engineer and architect Pier Luigi Nervi.
